Money Can’t Buy you Happiness, but surely some Memorabilia !!

It’s not just about watching the game, cheering for your favorite sports team or sportsperson, but for me it’s something beyond too. Collecting Sports Memorabilia has been one of my hobbies and I got to thank Social Media Marketing by Brands for giving a lot of opportunities to add to my collections.

Though most of the time, I prefer to get my Autographs in Person, there are times when Twitter and Facebook pave way to add to my collection through contests. But then there are times when there is no way to reach your favorite celebrity or you don’t make the final list in a contest. What Next?, Nothing to be disheartened about. There is Collectabillia. Though a Commercial Initiative, Universal Sportsbiz under its brand ‘Collectabillia’, is every sporting enthusiast’s dream. While they give an opportunity for sports fans to own personally autographed item of their favorite celebrity, their auctions which happen during IPL is something to watch out for.

In a Nation obsessed with Cricket, what is really interesting is that they don’t stop with Cricket. There is something for every sport, well, almost. Politics and Hollywood aren’t excluded too. Be it an investment or for personal happiness, the products offered in the site add great value to one’s collection.

The first time I came across the site was when I wanted to get my hands on the CSK 2011 Team Signed Jersey. When I won the auction for 10,000+ I was quite thrilled in spite of spending so much on a Cricket Memorabillia First Time. On Receiving the Product, got it Framed so that this priceless addition remains a treasure in my collection.

If Personal Autographs are out of budget for fans, then Collectabillia has variety to offer from many favorite celebrities, right from Caps, Mini Bats to Mobile Cases and more. With pricetags for some priceless stuff, there is something for everyone. Sure Money can’t buy happiness but definitely it can get some of your favorite celebrity’s personally signed item to add on to your collection and Cherish it for Life.

Some of my additions from the Site are IPL Champions 2011 CSK Team Signed Jersey, DC 2009 Team Signed Jersey, Sachin signed Adidas Cap and Digitally signed Mini Bats of Virat, Sachin, Yuvraj Singh, Sachin Mobile Case. Sure I look forward to add more in future auctions ( Hoping they would come up with more and more products ).

If Collectabillia is one such blessing for fans, Valuemart Retail is another. Ebay too help at times to reach out for places where you can’t travel and Buy, for example the “Don Bradman” Coins which i had added to my Collection.

Valuemart Gold had come up with a unique range of commemorative products conceptualized by Valuemart Retail. I am glad that I had bought both of their new launches, a 20 gram Silver Coin and a Limited Edition 200gm Silver Coin, a semi proof silver coin embossed with a relief image of Sachin on the front and Signature of Sachin, encircled by 24 stars depicting the 24 years of International cricket played by the legend. Made in Swiss, the Quality and Finish of the Coins are Stunning and definitely stand out as the Master Blaster Himself.   Sure these coins are a must buy for every Sachin Fan. Am sure they are going to come up with more products in future and looking forward to make my collection bigger.

Note : If you have a Sports Memorabilia, do realize the value and preserve it, they are priceless. None of my Collections Came by Chance, but by Choice. If anyone you know could add to my collection or help, then it would be awesome. Of Course, only if they are willing to part with it to make my collection bigger. Cheers.

Aviva – What’s your big plan

Cricket, Family and Profession, one of the biggest Challenges I face is to balance the three. My Primary focus is our Kids Education and to secure our Future for which am building my business. Being a Cricket Fanatic, equally important is enjoying the journey without taking my eyes off my passion, Cricket.

Cricket Fan in Me

My Big Plan is to prepare our Kids Adarsh (7) and Akshay( 3) for what the future has in store for them, mould and teach them character, values and good morals and when they grow up, guide and support with finances to pursue and realize their dreams.

As a Child, they have many dreams, becoming a Pilot, Engineer, Doctor, Cricketer and many more. But what matters according to us is that they must have a good platform, enough financial security, right guidance and support.

Naughty Boys

As Parents, Me and Kavitha do our best to manage our kids financial needs when they grow up. Periodic investment towards their higher education is a part of our financial planning since they turned one along with Investments towards our Retirement Plans. We do have plans to give something back to the society after retirement through charity.

Breaks with Family, Friends to visit places and Cricket Matches in order to get those refreshing breaks allow me to go the Extra Mile to stretch myself towards the Big Plan as I believe success is a journey, not a destination.

A Balance between Planning, Executing it in smaller parts, Hard Work and Refreshing breaks while we move towards our Goals is all that I have in my Big Plan and Hope to realize all the Dreams Step by Step.

Lights, Camera, Action #ChallengeVirat @godrejcinthol by @cricprabhu

We’ve seen Virat playing cricket, playing football, but hitting a Football with a Cricket Bat ?? !!,

ImageThats how Different was the Challenge Virat campaign and Event organised Godrej Cinthol to bring the fans #Alive and #Awesome.

Well, Virat said on 23rd May “Prabhu, you tried getting into my Head, now try throwing me a Challenge” , and Guess what?, I did and finally on the big day I did beat Virat on a Challenge.

Return Air Tickets, Stay at Shangri La Eros, a Car at our disposal and Camera’s around us, Yes we were the Heroes of the Event when Godrej Cinthol decided to let us take on Virat in a face off at Talkatora Stadium in Newdelhi on 7th Aug.

It was a fun filled afternoon while Virat relished the Challenge with 5 Awesome Challengers ( Sarath, Vineet, Adarsh, Prathamesh and myself Prabhu ) selected from Twitter, 1 Wild card Ankit from the gathered audience and MTV Roadies Season 8 Finalist Pooja. We did have a surprise young challenger Kanav who beat Virat on a mini penalty shootout challenge. Of Course Virat was kind to the little kid by taking it as slow as possible.  Screams of Virat “I love you” greeted the Awesome Star while he rocked the Arena.

Sarath challenged Virat to hit 6 different balls into the stands, Virat sent 3 into the stands.  Vineet asked Virat to hit one bounce four and he did hit 3 and Vineet did bowl Virat once. Prathamesh walked in with a baseball bat challenging to hit a six off it while both Virat and Prathamesh couldn’t and ended on a tie. Adarsh wanted to kick a football to the stumps and Virat showed his accuracy skills to beat him, Wild Card Ankit challenged to hit into the Stands and Virat lofted two of them quite easily, and finally MTV Roadies Season 8 Finalist Pooja Bannerjee challenged to bring down 50 bowling pins with 6 balls.

Every Challenge was fun as Virat made it look simple and showed why he is Awesome. The Best part was to see Virat in a jovial mood replying “Naan Unnai Kadhalikiren” to Sarath when he talked in Tamil meaning “I love you”, Saying “Sorry Coach” to the Host,  trying to distract Adarsh during his football challenge and speaking about bowling challenge to his fans that he has the most funny bowling action and doesn’t bowl well. Yes Virat was at his Playful Best giving a visual treat to everyone gathered giving us Alive moments through his presence.

I knew Virat could hit them big quite easily and had challenged to hit the stumps at Non Strikers End. Decided to keep it short not to let Virat drive them easily and did manage to ensure Virat doesnt beat me. It was fun as Virat imitated my spinning action and called me Ashwin. May be the Yellow Tee did the trick for me!!.  When it was my turn to face Virat, all I could do was to get one very very close that Virat pointed to stumps with his fingers and said that was very close. We had one super ball each to see if someone could break the tie, but again none of us could do it. Finally Virat declared me as a winner as I had been very close. It was a dream moment to bowl a few balls to Virat and of course face him too. Also, this trip did give me a chance to Catch up with twitter Pals Pawan and Jatin

Virat who enjoys facing challenges in Life briefed why he decided to associate with Cinthol as he relates well to their Tagline “Alive is Awesome” and seemed to enjoy every minute of the #ChallengeVirat event as it was a different game altogether.

teamIt was more than a Dream to play and have fun with an Awesome Cricketer at this level and each one of us who got a chance to #ChallengeVirat will relish these memories for life. These are things which money can’t buy and we got to thank Godrej Cinthol Team, Creative Land for a Unique and Creative Campaign. Kudos to everyone who were behind the Perfect planning and Execution of the Fantastic Event.

After the event, it was extra special to meet Virat in Person for a minute where I handed over the Photo Magnets and Baggage Tag Gifts I had made for him. Also got an autograph for Chirag Makwana on his picture collage in order to surprise him on his wedding.  Another awesome Fan of Virat, Dileep had sent a collage for Autograph with Just Virat Blog Page, and other fan pages he manages including @viratgang, and after having a look, Virat asked “Can I keep it?”, Sure a special moment for the fan and I hope he gets to meet his star soon.  I could not manage autographs for all the fans who requested, but you guys will have your day too.

Sure Cinthol has more to come and all Virat fans must keep a close watch at Godrej Cinthol‘s Social Media – Twitter, Facebook, Instagram  You never know, “Alive is Awesome” and it may be YOU someday.

It is Evident that in this format of the Tournament, what is Important that getting together as a Team, Performing when needed which matters the most. There is no Doubt that MSD, The Team knows it better than anyone else.

Looking into the Game, the Team did well in bowling with contribution from everyone, except that Bravo had to take the stick from his Caribbean Counterpart. On the other hand Sachin and Ponting’s getting out cheaply, came in a Blessing for MI that Pollard got to face close to 40 balls and change the course of the Match. Dinesh Karthik continued his form where he left in the last game, before Bravo got him. Bhajji sticked on with Pollard to put up a competitive Score on Board.

The CSK had a slow start as usual, but what hurt the Team was that none from the top order failed to score big which took the game away from CSK. But with MSD at the Crease, he showed that no Target is too far. Yes, the Helicopter Landed on the first match in Chepauk and Oh Dear, the Crowd was all Whistles, on their feet and he made it look so simple to take it to the last over fighting a lone battle.

It boiled down to 12 of the last over with MSD cruising, before Pollard took a Stunner in the Boundary Ropes and ended CSK’s Hopes. Pollard a deserved Man of the Match, but the highlight of the Starter in Chennai is that the Helicopter has landed earlier than always in MA Chidambaram Stadium. A quick fire 50, 3 Sixes and 5 Fours, MSD nearly finished off the game and Set the Crowds on Fire. Forget the slow start, time to focus on what the Boys need to work on and improvise as the tournament progresses, as the facts say that it is important that who finishes on Top at the End.

Fans have a few worries, but more to Celebrate to see Captain Cool, MSD in awesome form right from the Start. Let’s Move on to Mohali. Come #Whistle4CSK in the Coming Games and let’s cheer for a third IPL Title. #Whistlepodu
